Why Alpaca? Alpacas valuable fleece is soft on the skin and luscious to touch. Its fiber is very strong, yet lightweight because each individual fiber is hollow. This gives alpaca a tremendous thermal capacity that allows for a breathable fiber with an insulating nature. Alpaca is lanolin free (lanolin holds dust and microscopic allergens that create allergies to wool), which allows for the hypoallergenic nature of the fiber.

Care Instructions.   Alpaca can last a lifetime. We recommend hand washing over dry cleaning to maintain the fiber's softness and characteristics. Hand wash in cold water, use mild detergent (do not bleach) and soak, rub or wring, rinse thoroughly in cold water, ease into shape. Dry flat, away from heat or sunlight. Do not tumble dry. Use cool iron. Store in a dry, protected place.
